澳洲"耶路撒冷的城牆"國家公園,位於塔斯曼島中央高原的西部.這個國家公園因為沒有車道可以進入,只有登山客才到得了,所以整個地區仍然保有原始的風貌.這裡不只是1001世界自然奇觀,也是世界遺產.所以這次我們的塔斯曼島之旅把這列為重點之一.但是這裡的天氣瞬息萬變,很難捉摸,加上所有的資料多寫這步道難度相當高,因此事前我們很緊張,還好上帝保守我們選對了天氣,加上為保護這裡的植物和動物澳洲政府做了許多木板步道,所以我們前進速度相當快,走到Temple 來回共花八小時.
這個國家公園名為耶路撒冷的城牆,裡面所有的地名全部採用聖經裡的名字來命名,所以當我們進入這個國家公園時恍如進入聖經故事的時代, 讓我們有一種朝聖的感覺,也更能體會上帝創造的奧秘.
我們從停車場出發,走過state forest 到 Trampers Hut,上到林線以上之後,步道變成board walk,走起來相當輕鬆,景色又豐富.橘色苔蘚裝飾的高山水潭叫做"所羅門王的寶石 "被千年的pencil pine和snow gum trees圍繞.步道西邊有陡峭高聳的"耶路撒冷的圍牆",東邊是高山湖泊綿延不斷的河谷.這裡的山谷是冰河留下來的傑作,真正的千湖之國,湖泊多到讓你數不清.紅色的野花,多彩的苔蘚,搭配高山水潭,雖然名叫耶路撒冷的城牆,卻有和耶路撒冷完全不同的景色.尤其是這裡的苔蘚是我們看過最厚的.我們在這裡排回不忍離去, 直到氣溫下降,雲層變厚才不得不下山,這又是一個令人終生難忘的世界奇觀.
Walls Of Jerusalem is a national park in Tasmania, Australia, 144 km northwest of Hobart. Located in the Tasmanian Central Highlandseast of the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park, and west of the Central Plateau Conservation Area. It is south of Mole Creek, Tasmania, and Rowallan Lake It forms part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area.The region is an alpine wilderness dominated by dolerite peaks, highland tarns and lakes and alpine vegetation.
The park takes its name from the geological features of the park which are thought to resemble the walls of the city of Jerusalem in Israel. As a result many places and features within the park also have Biblical references for names, such as Herods Gate, Lake Salome, Solomons Jewels, Damascus Gate, the Pool of Bathesda.
It has no road access.As the park is remote and not accessible via road, the Walls retains its wilderness character. There are no facilities for casual visitors, while bushwalkers are required to be well-equipped and experienced in the often harsh Tasmanian conditions.
