It takes 7 hours return from Courthouse Flat Carpark to the peak of 1648m Billies Knob. Weathered wood, tussock tops and glaciated marble outcrops combine to create the inspiring view atop Billies Knob. The spectacular Tolkien - like scenery do evoke images of fantasy.

Linda Wang told me she had been there with the group you led many years ago. We 5 Taiwanese once stayed in new Granity Hut for the night after the previous night at Flora Saddle Hut. Next morning attempt Mt Owen then back out to carpark via valley route. Then drove around to stay at Lake Matiri Hut. Our strategy is to walk out from one hut, drive to other track and walk in another hut to save all the accommodation cost.
